Immer wenn Herr C. anruft...
Unmöglich, das Samstag-Match gegen Manchester United zu sehen. Aber am Abend läutet das Handy und mein Freund A.C. ist dran. Er ruft immer nur an, wenn etwas ganz Besonderes passiert bei unseren Hammers - z.B. nach dem Auswärtsspiel gegen Arsenal im Frühjahr oder in der 2. Halbzeit des letzten Spiels der vergangenen Saison gegen Manchester United.
Und heute hatte er mir, der ich bis dahin nur wusste, dass es zur Halbzeit 0:1 gestanden war, wahrhaft Sensationelles zu berichten: Nachdem ManU durch Ronaldo einen Elfer zum 2:0 vergeben hatte, gelangen West Ham zwei späte Tore zum verdienten 2:1-Erfolg.
Die Torschützen: Ferdinand (77.) und Upson (82.) - jeweils nach Assist von Mark Noble, der endlich wieder in der Anfangsaufstellung stand, in Hälfte 1 aber einen "Sitzer" vergeben hatte. Zwei Kopfballtore, nach Corner bzw. Freistoß von rechts - und der regierende Meister war besiegt! Der dritte Heimsieg! Großartig, unglaublich, sensationell.

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley:"If you walk along the corridor here there are pictures of all the players on the walls and I reckon I had a whole wall out injured.
"We played ever so well in the first half and we were disappointed to be a goal down.
"It's a fantastic result considering I had 16 fit players and lost two more."
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson:"I have no complaints. We were beaten by the better team. We were not nearly up to our normal performance.
"Scoring the penalty would have killed the game but if you lose goals to set pieces you are not at your best.
