The 18-year-old, who has featured regularly in the Hammers' Under-18 and reserve teams this season, was introduced as a 75th-minute substitute at the Stadion KVK in Tienen. Grasser has impressed the club's Academy and reserve team staff with his tenacity and passing ability since joining West Ham from Grazer AK last summer.

After Wednesday's outing, the teenager will now hope to keep his place in Andreas Heraf's squad for the upcoming UEFA European Under-19 Championship Elite Round Group 1 qualifiers against Hungary, Serbia and Finland in May. Should Austria top their group, they will win through to the eight-team finals tournament, which will be held in Ukraine from 21 July to 2 August 2009.
