West Ham 0 Portsmouth 1

Liverpool and Chelsea in Champions League Semi Finals

21:39 (BST): FULL-TIME West Ham 0-1 Portsmouth
Niko Kranjcar's second-half goal (61) was a rare highlight in a "drab and curiously muted game". Having gone in front, Portsmouth's lead was never seriously threatened (BBC).
West Ham were poor in the first half, but in the second half they were awful (Hammered).
West Ham: Green, Neill, Spector, Ferdinand, McCartney, Solano (82 Pantsil), Mullins (73 Cole), Parker, Boa Morte, Ashton, Zamora (58 Sears).
Subs not used: Walker, Tomkins.

FA Cup finalists Pompey are now four points ahead of seventh-placed Aston Villa.
West Ham only four points ahead of eleventh-placed T*ttenham and 6 ahead of Newcastle.

Will West Ham be able to achieve a top ten-finish?
The remainig fixtures are:
Saturday, 12 April 2008 v Bolton (Away)
Saturday, 19 April 2008 v Derby (Home)
Saturday, 26 April 2008 v Newcastle (H)
Saturday, 03 May 2008 v Man Utd (A)
Sunday, 11 May 2008 v Aston Villa (H).

2138: FULL-TIME Chelsea 2-0 Fenerbahce (agg 3-2)
Chelsea edge through thanks to goals from Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard. It's Liverpool v Chelsea in the semi-finals. Again. First leg at Anfield (23 April; second leg: 30 April).

2137: FULL-TIME Liverpool 4-2 Arsenal (agg 5-3)
A truly remarkable game. Arsenal looked to have won it through Emmanuel Adebayor's goal before a controversial penalty put Liverpool back in the driving seat.

From Iain Dale's match report (West Ham Till I Die Blog):
"At one point I turned to my neighbour and asked him if he think of a memorable game here this season apart from the Liverpool and Man U victoried. He couldn’t and neither could I. And so to the scores…"
