Der Guardian meint in einem längeren, in Bezug auf die Spielernamen aber schleißig recherchierten Artikel, dass man vor 25 Jahren keine Wiederholung des Spieles hätte anordnen können, wenn die Whiskey-Flasche nicht aufs Spielfeld geflogen wäre - egal wo sie gelandet ist. In der Times bleibt Celtic-Coach Tony Mowbray ganz cool, auch wenn er - wie er im Daily Record zugibt - Personalsorgen hat und am Sonntag das "Old Firm" gegen die Rangers wartet:
