das ist wirklich ein skandal! naja was will man machen. soweit ich weiß war der linienrichter leider auf der anderen seite.
schade. "the luck of the irish" existiert wohl nicht im fußball...
achja: di canio als beispiel für integrität und ehre anzuführen halte ich, gelinde gesagt, für sehr gewagt.
und ja: ich weiß, dass das zitat nicht von dir stammt, nichts für ungut ;)
2001 erhielt di Canio den FIFA Fair Play Award. Grund dafür war eine Aktion während des Spiels zwischen West Ham United und dem FC Everton. Di Canio hatte die Chance auf das leere Tor des Gegners zu schießen, doch als er bemerkte, dass Evertons Torhüter, Paul Gerrard, verletzt am Boden lag, nahm er den Ball in die Hände und unterbrach somit das Spiel, damit sein Gegenspieler behandelt werden konnte. Kurioserweise bekam er für sein Handspiel die Gelbe Karte. Die FIFA bezeichnete sein Verhalten, als einen „besonders guten Akt sportmännischen Verhaltens“.
