The award will be presented to the winning player at the home game against Middlesbrough on Sunday 24 May.
Goal keeper Robert Green (right; whufc.com) was the last player to be honoured with the award in 2008 and he knows how much it would mean to the players to be named Hammer of the Year for 2008/09:
"It was great for me to win it in my first full season at West Ham. It was a great honour and one of the best achievements in my career," he said.
"It was a fantastic thing and I'm sure whoever wins it this year will be just as deserving because there have been some great and consistent performances this season. It's going to be tough for the supporters to pick their winner."
