When you talk about “The Project” what is a realistic ambition to emerge from those plans?
DUXBURY: I am the wrong person to ask because I am ambitious. My answer will be to win the league. It’s not a stupid remark because we are in a league, it’s a race and if you’re not in it to win it, why on earth are you taking part? Simply to exist is not what I am about. If we get the right set of circumstances and continue to grow as a club, why not? Why can’t we achieve the ultimate? I was with Gianfranco just before the season ended and I said, well, if we sign these players we’ll definitely finish seventh and qualify for the Europa League next season. And he said: “Only seventh? No way, we’ve got to finish much higher than that”. He shares my ambition and my view. Of course I am aware of the financial constraints on the club and the perceived financial requirements to compete at that highest level, but we’ve got our vision and we believe in it. If we continue to develop the players, who knows where we can end up. We are certainly not going to limit ourselves and say we can never finish at this level because we all believe we can.

"I am very happy, very excited and very determined to show what I can do. I am a player who loves to play football, to be in a team that keeps the ball, to create opportunities and also score goals. I can't promise anything but I am going to do everything possible to do a good job for the club.WHUFC-Homepage: click -> here!
"I know West Ham are a fantastic club who have had a lot of great players. I had options to join other clubs but I watched West Ham's last game of the season and I liked it a lot. I preferred this option because I really admire the way they try to play. Gianfranco Zola was one of the things that drew me to West Ham - I can identify with the type of football he wants to play."
West Ham will face German Cup winners Werder Bremen in Bad Waltersdorf next month as part of their Austrian stay.
The Hammers will play at least two games against foreign opposition during their training camp in Styria.
The first of those fixtures has now been confirmed for Saturday, 18th July in Bad Waltersdorf - just North of United's Bad Radkersburg base - with German side Werder Bremen providing the oppostion.
One day later Rapid Vienna plays Liverpool in Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
West Ham could yet face another German side as Hertha Berlin are also in Austria at the same time. Another possibility is Czech outfit FK Jablonec.
"I have been so impressed with what has been achieved here in the last 12 months with a proper strategy that everyone has bought into. Gianfranco Zola has not even been at the club a year, yet he has put his indelible mark on a young, skilful, vibrant team.
"The club has a buzz about it, from the people you meet at reception to those involved in the first team. I have complete faith in how CEO Scott Duxbury and Gianfranco work together in improving the squad without external investment.
"Scott's self-sufficient business model is sensible and prudent in these challenging times and will deliver success. I am confident there are strong foundations we can all build on."
"I can assure fans that Gianfranco absolutely does not have to sell any players for financial reasons and new players will be arriving in the summer to augment what is already a strong playing staff.
"We believe the club should not spend more than it earns and thus increase the debt. It simply isn't necessary when you have such a talented management team and pool of up-and-coming young players. It seems pointless to invest in West Ham United's world famous academy if you are then not going to use the players you have nurtured and developed."
"We totally support Gianfranco Zola's philosophy of following the West Ham tradition of bringing young players through, as well as investing in new talent where appropriate."
Bitte sehr:
Dear Prudence
(Lennon/McCartney)
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day
The sun is up, the sky is blue
It's beautiful and so are you
Dear Prudence won't you come out and play
Dear Prudence open up your eyes
Dear Prudence see the sunny skies
The wind is low the birds will sing
that you are part of everything
Dear Prudence won't you open up your eyes?
Look around round
Look around round round
Look around
Dear Prudence let me see you smile
Dear Prudence like a little child
The clouds will be a daisy chain
So let me see you smile again
Dear Prudence won't you let me see you smile?
Matchbericht West Ham - Sunderland 2-0: -> Well done, Youngsters!
"Carlton Cole, West Ham vs Wigan, März.
"Der Peter-Neururer-Blender-Orden-> "Raphael-Honigstein-Awards"
Nochmal Phil Brown.
